Pack your warm coat and gloves, we are off to the Arctic where we will learn about polar bears and animals native to the region. Next stop, the Antarctic. What do these two land masses have in common? Are they both continents? Hibernation, Migration and Adaption, what do humans do? Which animals hibernate, which adapt, and which ones migrate and why? This time of year there are lots of animal tracks on the ground. We will learn which tracks belong to which animals.
On the music shelf we will be learning to identify instruments by their sound. Which instruments are in an orchestra? Mr. Jack, a concert violinist that has played with orchestras around the world,  will join us one day this month for a private violin concert. He will take us on a musical journey of animal sounds.

The seeds have germinated and are growing nicely. The children planted 3 varieties of pumpkins, two varieties of cucumbers, snap peas, pole beans, and sunflowers.
The children ate sweet mini peppers for snack one day. We wondered, would these seeds grow?  We harvested and dried the seeds for planting. Our hypothesis: that they should grow, because they are seeds, and plants come from seeds.
Our experiment worked! We have sooo many mini pepper plants. All the plants will be transplanted in to the garden when we return from break.
Thank you, Mr.Jack Glatzer for visiting us. We loved our violin concert. It is such a joy to spend time with you and your love of music. Thank you, parents, for your support of the Little Yellow Pantry in our area. Your generous donations are making a difference in our community.
Our garden is expanding! 4 new raised beds will be added this year. The children will assemble them and move them to the garden area.
