What does it mean to be “thankful?”

This month we will begin our journey around the world. Our first stop, the continent of North America. “But I live in Gig Harbor, how can I live in two places.” Using Me on the Map we will learn how this is possible. On the science shelves, we learn about squirrels and continue our study of trees and leaves. Why do leaves change color? Do all trees lose their leaves or needles?

What’s new: This month we are working with non-profits in our area to collect pet supplies. All items will be distributed to families with pets that need a little help. The goal is to keep pets with their children and families. Donations of pet food, bowls, toys leashes, and coats are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.

Welcome back Mr. Bones!

This month we will learn about our skeletal system. How many bones do we have? Do we really need them? On the science shelves, we are studying leaves and bats.

Thank you, Chief Waters and Gig Harbor Fire and Rescue for visiting us. We really enjoyed learning about what to do in a fire emergency. Sitting in the fire truck was, “the best day ever!”

What’s new: we are collecting personal care items to be used in compassion kits to be given to those less fortunate in our area. items needed are toothbrushes, toothpaste, masks, lotion, soap, small packages of tissues, hand sanitizer. Thank you for helping others.

We will continue to follow current Covid-19, recommendations, guidelines, and mandates to keep all children, families, and staff safe.

Welcome To School!

We are making new friends. Oh, how we have missed this.

This month we will learn all about apples, the four seasons, and what does it mean if something is living or non-living? Are you living or non-living? Why? We will spend time outside designing our garden and outdoor classroom.

Our drop-in days will be September 7,8 and 9.

We will continue to follow current Covid-19 recommendations, guidelines, and mandates to keep all children, families, and staff safe.

This month we are learning about ladybugs, butterflies, and what plants need to grow and thrive. We will also begin designing and planting our garden.

We are enjoying making new friends too.
